Haye Farm is home to Chris and Susan and our three children. We moved to East Devon in 2003 from Essex to escape the rat race, and to create a more natural life for us and our family.

The farm has just under 100 acres of permanent pasture which is home to our pedigree herd of North Devon cattle (Red Rubies), Suffolk mule cross sheep. We also have rare breed Oxford, Sandy and Black pigs. (OSB)

The philosophy is a simple one. All of the animals have to live as natural a life as possible, the cattle and sheep eat grass or preserved grass as haylage. They only come indoors for lambing or in the case of cows for a few wet months to preserve the pasture. The animals therefore take longer to reach maturity, but this greatly improves the flavour of the meat. The animals also benefit from living a longer, stress free life.

The animals are slaughtered at a local abattoir and hung for 3 weeks (beef) or 1 week (lamb and pork) and processed by Complete Meats in Axminster, this all takes a round trip of about 10 miles! We sell our meat locally and occasionally we have enough to be able to deliver boxes of meat via courier. We are happy to take orders.

In 2006 we opened Hectors House ,a one bedroomed self catering cottage attached to the farmhouse, bed and breakfast is also available.

Haye Farm is close to the village of Musbury, 5 miles from Lyme Regis, 2 miles from Seaton, ideally located for exploring the Jurassic Coast, or attending a course or meal at River Cottage HQ (7 minute drive)
